The primary responsibility of the Industrial Electrician is to install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls required for each project the company undertakes.
Install, test, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and equipment.
Read, interpret and provide updates (red lines) for drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications and schematics in order to effectively troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipment.
Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment.
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
Ensure all work performed adheres to all relevant provincial and federal safety regulations, codes and specifications.
Comply with company policies and procedures, especially health and safety rules, use of personal protective equipment and WHMIS.
Regular working hours are 7am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Overtime may be required when we are busy. Some overtime weekend work may also be required, if necessary.
Ability to communicate effectively with others & work in a team setting.
Demonstrate sound decision making ability.
Demonstrate sound analytical and diagnostic skills, attention to detail and safety, and demonstrate a concern for customers and their requirements.
Demonstrate solid organization and efficiency skills in the electrical process.
Ability to lift up to 25lbs and occasional lifting up to 50lbs.
Handle exposure to bright light, extreme temperature, loud noise, dust, gas or fumes.
Occasionally working at heights above 10ft.
Qualifications and Travel Requirements:
Licensed Industrial Electrician with 5+ years experience.
Red Seal Certified.
Able to use Allen Bradley Software an asset.
Ability to travel within North America as required.
Valid passport and driver's license.
English fluency, business ability in French is also an asset.
